The history of the Bewallerhof

Bewallerhof is a well-known and down-to-earth hotel with a long history dating back to 1400. It was originally known as "Peywaldt" from the surname of the previous owner. It then took on the name "Bewaller” from Rhaeto-Romanic and can be translated as "Beim Wald" or "Ochsenweide". The farm was always leased from 1832 until it was bought by Lorenz Eisath in 1905. In 1905, Alois Eisath finally took over the farm. From 1952, the hostel was run as a guest house for the first time by Anton Eisath.

The Alpengasthof Bewaller was completely rebuilt in 1953 in traditional Tyrolean style with all the modern comveniences -  running hot and cold water, as well as central heating - a great luxury at that time. On the death of Anton Eisath, Johann Eisath took over the business in 1978. Since 2018, his son Philipp, together with his wife Manuela and their two children, have run the business with great energy and new ideas.
